My guess is that Pico’s venting about his trauma in this.

the shooting going on in the background tho

Nene’s face in the thumbnail looks genuinely adorable

My favorite part of this game was when Samurai Asshole cut off Nene's hand before facing her and saying:

"No, Nene. I AM your ancestor."

Truly the most heartbreaking plot twist of all time. I couldn't stop crying since I heard those words. Thank you, Kolumbo, for this masterpiece of a game. I hope S'Asshole returns in Pico 5: The World Explodes And Everyone Dies.

Kolumbo responds:

hes gonna be paid dlc!!!

okay this game is actually good

kinda wish it was longer though

Kolumbo responds:

thank you!!

I love Nene's mechanic so much; nice reference to her immortality

This gave me an idea: if Nene becomes playable in FNF, this could work as game over music.

"I know you're mad-"

*Nene and Darnell literally exploding*

The comment below gave me an idea...

Since Weekend 1's out and we've been able to see Nene in action, I can't help but wonder if Nene's so merciless in FNF because of PTSD and pent-up frustrations. She was around to witness all the blood and death in Pico's School (plus her own game, but that's another can of worms), not to mention also being in Newgrounds Rumble. With that in mind, on top of her issues, Pico seems to be the only other person who understands her pain, as he's been there with her for both games. Darnell, in contrast, wasn't, hence why he seemed more easier on Pico than Nene. As for why Nene was ready to kill Pico, it's probably because she knew the hit on BF would pay them a lot of money, and she wanted to let Pico know that, once she's got her eyes on something, she's not tearing it away; it's the same reason she decided to square up and learn how to fight for herself in later installments.

TLDR; Nene is a very nasty individual when she feels she's been wronged. Nene is someone who overreacts over the slightest of mistakes. But Nene is still a girl who had to lose innocence. She started out as a helpless girl who was too scared to continue on with life, but later realized she was much more than that. She's a human with plenty of mistakes, and that can be applied to anyone, including ourselves.

"You dare defy me, NiGHTS?! I gave you life! If it weren't for me, you wouldn't even exist."

"And if it weren't for you, you wouldn't have someone constantly trivializing your 'plans' now, would you?"

"The remains of a false god."

"With Wizeman's passing, there was a long funeral held. Thousands, if not millions of Nightmaren attended the gathering in the castle's confines. To everyone's surprise, NiGHTS, Owl, Illumina, Ariem, and thousands of Nightopians arrived. All had thought NiGHTS wouldn't attend, being Wizeman's rebellious creation and the new heir to Maginaryworld, but they said they came to say their proper goodbyes, as much as Illumina didn't want to be there. They sat, reconciling with their friends, family, and scared Nightmaren who didn't know what would happen now that their ruler was gone.

"Eventually came the time for those who knew Wizeman to speak. Higher-ranking Nightmaren gave their accounts of their former king, sharing memories and stories pertaining to him. Most weren't positive, but all they hoped was that he rested. NiGHTS was the last to give their own, and as much as they detested their former father, all they wished was for an eternity of resting to do away with the hate Wizeman felt for so many years. They hoped that, in the afterlife, Wizeman would say hello to the long-deceased Elliot and Claris, and that they would all see each other again someday.

"But the funeral was not over just yet. There was an obituary he assigned to be read, to everyone attending. As it was being relayed, it revealed a side of Wizeman that not a single soul attending expected. While Wizeman gave compensations to his Nightmaren, the last request given shocked all: NiGHTS was to be the new ruler of Nightmare following Wizeman's death. Nobody had seen this coming, and Reala, being Wizeman's right-hand man for so long, thought he would be crowned instead. Even NiGHTS didn't understand why. Was it because they bested him several times before? It was too late to ask him.

"As soon as the obituary was read, the Nightmaren turned to NiGHTS, for their first order of action. But NiGHTS didn't want to be a ruler. They wanted to be free; was that not the reason they stopped being Wizeman's lapdog? Illumina agreed, assuring NiGHTS that they could go back to Maginaryworld right now. NiGHTS was about to leave with her, but then they had an idea: the residents of Nightmare could move to Maginaryworld. Nightopia had done so in the past, so Nightmare could do the same, resulting in a long-overdue truce between both realms. Reala was hesitant, but NiGHTS told him they both could share the role in ruling over the Nightmaren. They saw how disappointed he was by Wizeman's final declaration, and all they wanted to do was make sure their twin was satisfied.

"It was the first time in years the twins shook hands.

"Nightmare's king and creator may have been gone, but the place was back, better than ever. NiGHTS, wearing their scorned father's crown and cope, broke the shackles of those who deserved their freedom. They knew it was only fair, that they returned the favor bestowed onto themself when they left the kingdom all those years ago. And most importantly, they wanted to make sure Reala was happy. He was. Seeing him crack a genuine smile was enough for NiGHTS to cry - tears of joy for their once-malicious sibling turning over a new leaf. One thing was definitely for certain: NiGHTS was journeying into a new dream. Hopefully for an everlasting existence, and one that will be fulfilled for eons to come."

Sorry for the long ass comment; this picture really made me think of a story to go along with it. NiGHTS being the new king/queen of Nightmare is an interesting concept, though I wonder if that would, ironically, hold them back from being free, even if Wizeman's gone.
