PrincessElis's News

Okay, this is gonna be a steaming hot take, and honestly, I've been kinda scared of sharing it for multiple reasons. Mainly because I know a lot of people really like this specific headcanon. Hell, I thought it was cute at first myself. Key words being at first. But really looking at this, I don't think it's plausible. What is it, you may ask? It's the idea that BF (from FNF) might be Hatsune Miku's brother.

Before we get into my main issues with this, I'll just say it's not an unfounded claim. The FNF devs have joked about the possibility of this being canon. However, they have yet to make this the case. But considering the main problems with how BF could be related to Miku, I actually hope they just leave it be. And here's the main reasons why I have a personal issue with the matter:

It takes away BF's agency of being good at rap battles.

Now, this point might be confusing to read at first glance. But to put it simply, BF doesn't have to be related to Miku in order to be good at singing. The main reason he takes it up is so he could impress his girlfriend, and it seems to be a hobby both of them enjoy. Tying this to him being related to Miku just makes it come across as "oh, he would obviously take up the handle just because his sister is one of the most popular music voicebanks in the world", which in my opinion, would take away a lot of BF's strengths and would act as a cheap explanation for the one character trait he has.

Not everyone who's good at singing has to be related to a popular singer. They can pursue their career without having to be tied to someone who's already leagues above them. If BF was Miku's brother, that would imply the sole reason he's good at singing is because of his sister just happening to be a very popular singer, and it just makes BF's skills less of a genuine hobby and moreso something he had to take up because of him being in Miku's shadow, which would make FNF's gameplay pretty depressing in hindsight.

Copyright

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, since I'm not entirely sure how Miku's copyright works, but I've heard it's one of the reasons the FNF devs haven't canonized BF and Miku's relationship. They would have to get permission from whoever holds the copyright to Miku to canonize this. And it's not gonna be as simple as asking a question, since FNF isn't gonna be a small game, if the kickstarter is anything to go by. She appeared as a cameo in Week 5's background, but that was barely noticeable. Giving her an active role, on the other hand, will complicate matters, especially if FNF branches out to the point where this copyright on Miku will have to be addressed.

Controversy (cw for false accusations and pedophilia mention)

Yes, there was controversy relating to Miku and FNF... sort of. In case you don't remember, in late December of 2023, Ninjamuffin was "exposed" for liking NSFW art of fictional characters on both his Newgrounds and Twitter account. This was after he made a pretty immature joke about the situation regarding Palestine (which he later apologized for), but nonetheless, people immediately started labelling him as a predator and whatnot because he liked artwork of underage characters, like Hat Kid from A Hat in Time for example, and Miku herself (although I'm pretty sure most of the art featuring said characters had them aged up). Now, I could understand why people would be upset with it, but bear in mind, these people were calling or comparing him to Epstein, an actual child predator, over him liking artwork of Hatsune Miku. You heard that right: they tried to frame him as an actual predator for liking artwork of one of the most popular fictional characters in the world. You cannot make this shit up.

With all of that in mind, I highly doubt the FNF devs will ever canonize Miku and BF being related because of this. I know for a fact that it's just gonna cause more drama, and if I were Ninjamuffin, I don't think I'd want one of my characters to be associated with the character people actively used to slander me left and right (granted he's not entirely innocent of his actions, either). I know this happened months ago, but it's something I can just never forgive, soley because the FNF fandom deemed this going "too far" despite that fandom being responsible for holding actual groomers and predators in it.

(By the way, fuck the FNF fandom. Just because not everyone there is like this, that doesn't automatically excuse how bad it is, but that's for another day.)

Overall, while the idea of BF being Miku's brother is cute, I'll admit, it just wouldn't work out in the long run to me. I'm not saying this headcanon is bad or that people shouldn't support it. I'll even say that it has some potential to be good if the FNF devs want to pick it up. But the way it frames BF's hobby as something he's only good at because of him being related to Miku, the copyright issues regarding Miku's use, and the controversy surrounding Ninjamuffin that happened and how people used Miku to slander him, I'd say it's better to be a fan interpretation rather than be implemented into canon. And this is coming from someone who jokes about and actually supports the idea of Nene and Samurai Asshole being related, but I digress. At least that isn't hard to work around or has massive gaping holes.

NOTE: I was originally going to submit this to the art portal, but seeing how the characters were just drawn as sketches and this was more than just a simple art piece (as it has an explanation I'll get into shortly), I just decided on making this a news post.

So I decided to sketch out the NG Rumble cast with a height chart. Note that these aren't accurate to the scaling in the game and it's just to give you an idea for how tall I believe the characters would be (at least in my artwork featuring them). Also note that I believe some of them are different heights in other games (such as Pico and Nene in FNF), but that's besides the point.

Anyways here it is:

iu_1030292_10501143.webp

Huge credits to ParallaxAbomination on DeviantArt for the height chart used here (I couldn't find another chart that started at 0 feet, so I just settled on this one).

Now, here's some things to note about this chart here:

  • I had to measure some characters (such as Pico, Fancy Pants Man, Buttchamber/Piconjo, and slightly S'Asshole) by the tips of their hair for their full size. This is because that is essentially the top of one's head, and so it wouldn't be too confusing if I listed their heights as where the tops of their bodies end (the exception to this is S'Asshole, whose front hair thing and top of his ponytail don't exactly count in this case).
  • I tried to estimate where the top of Alloy's skull would be in this, and I guessed it would be roughly around the 5 feet tall mark, not counting the rest of his head armor, hence why the tip of said head armor doesn't count here.
  • Krinkels has confirmed that Hank is canonically 6'2 (and the grunts in Madness might not be as short as we see them as). I decided to factor that here rather than depict Hank as being as short as he seems in NG Rumble because I think it fits his personality a bit more.
  • P-Bot is big because why not. He somewhat has the same reasoning as Hank being that he's scaled down to a medium size in the game (which makes sense).

So in total, here are the heights (from smallest to largest):

-Alien Hominid: 3'8 (112 cm) - Honestly the height of this could vary, seeing how the alien is part of a species and not exactly the same character, even if I like to believe the Alien Hominid from Rumble is the same one from the OG game.

-Nene: 4'3 (129.5 cm) - ...Yeah, you're probably surprised at how short she is here, but I digress.

-Pico: 4'7 (140 cm)

-Alloy (not with the full armor in mind): 5’0 (152 cm)

-Fancy Pants Man: 5'1 (155 cm)

-Captain/Tankman and Salad Fingers: both are 5’5 (165 cm)

-S'Asshole (without sandals): 5'8 (173 cm)

-Hank: 6'2 (188 cm)

-Convict: 6'3 (190.5 cm)

-Buttchamber/Piconjo: 6'4 (193 cm)

-P-Bot: 10'0 (304.8 cm)

Hope this gives a new perspective to my artwork, at least.

I don't really know what to title this, but still, this post is gonna be... very important (yeah, it's very different from everything else I've posted here), especially considering it contains a long document I've been working on for a couple of weeks now with a friend of mine, that being @felipecrespito (go check him out if you haven't already). And you're probably wondering who it's about. Well, let's just say this person is one of the most frustrating, hypocritical, and downright delusional people I've seen on this website. I don't really want to spoil it all in this paragraph, so I'll let the document speak for itself here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/18Ozrx0VhHBnOAldSMf8qaIlJHz_T-OFTQDk-_ccgN_I/edit?usp=sharing

But before you read it, I just want to give a couple of warnings about it...

Disclaimer: While this is a rant about a user that I really don’t like (especially their attitude), please DO NOT harass them nor anybody else mentioned. It’s best to leave them alone and ignore them, I’m just warning you about what they’re like. And while I will be linking some of the stuff they’ve posted, it’s only for context; do not bug them, nor anybody else mentioned, about any of what is linked in this document. Just read and learn from this.

WARNING: this document will contain mentions of guilt tripping, bullying (implied), lying, opinion forcing, opinion disrespecting, homophobia, detachment from reality (also implied), and child exploitation/grooming (although the last one is NOT regarding the person focused on, but about something they failed to address at one point. You’ll see what I’m talking about regarding this on mainly pages 23-25, as well as the beginning of the third section). Viewer discretion is advised.

Also, I want to say that I will come across as rather angry in this document (it will contain a bunch of swearing, for one), but this isn't without its reasonings. I apologize for that in advance, but honestly, after having to sit through all of this, I'd say it's warranted at this point.

In the meantime, here's a piece of art I made that goes along with this rant. It might be confusing at first, but trust me, after you read the document, it'll make a lot more sense in context.

iu_970271_10501143.webp

And lastly, you may notice the tags have something to do with something called "Otis Day". Once again, just read the document for context. You'll know exactly why they're included afterwards. That's all I can really say. Just read and learn, and please stay safe.

I dunno why I'm telling you guys this now, but I kind of wanted to let you know about something I found a while ago.

Basically I recall scrolling through a Pico's School-related tag on Tumblr to see some art (not that I have a Tumblr account; I was just visiting to see some fanart of Pico characters or something), and I remember coming across this one guy who was planning on making a "remake" of the game or something along those lines. So I thought, "okay, that sounds pretty cool! I wonder what they have in store for a possible remake of the game." and I then decided to look into it via their profile, and... that's where it goes to a complete 180. To put it simply, the person planning on making a "remake" of Pico's School basically tore the OG game to shreds (because the humor apparently didn't live up to modern day according to them), especially the Ghettobots (I get they were designed after racist stereotypes, but it's not like Tom was actually racist. And they're fucking robots anyway; they aren't even "real" ghetto boys. Not to mention even I, a person of color, am not offended by them, especially considering the year of their debut game). The person also called Cassandra a "negative transgender stereotype" (if I recall, but it was still some bs claim that even I thought to myself didn't make any sense. So either way... yeah, try to wrap your head around that). Like... what the actual fuck?! First of all, the penilians are fucking aliens (and fictional aliens, at that); they don't have the same human gender classification, and Tom Fulp certainly wasn't making fun of transgender people while designing Cassandra. What led you to that conclusion?

The reason I say that "I recall" is because, several months ago, I tried finding the original artist who claimed all of this, but their account was wiped, so I couldn't find shit. But still, this person existed, let's just put it that way. I understand it if people are put off by Pico's type of humor, but still, don't make outlandish claims like this guy did (and especially considering the guy honestly made Tom Fulp look awful; I can't imagine someone digging up something I made years ago to try and paint me as a horrible person).

Hey everyone, this news post is gonna be a little different from some of my other ones; I'm here today to discuss some "theories" I have for the Samurai Asshole character (created by Tom Fulp).

To give a brief recap of who S'Asshole is (in case some of you aren't familiar with him), he originates from an old (and laggy) flash game from 1999 aptly named "Samurai Asshole". The plot of that game is that the titular character's master died by choking on a piece of chicken. From there, S'Asshole goes on to try to avenge his deceased master by attacking the temple he died in, even killing a god for interfering. Afterwards, he's swept up by a spaceship (which is then noticed by a couple of penilians from the Pico series) and at the end of the game, he's wound up in a Smurf village... yeah, typical old flash game stuff.

However, Samurai also becomes a playable character several years later in the crossover fighting game "Newgrounds Rumble". And his design there is drastically different from his original design. But the thing is that his design in NG Rumble was actually supposed to be used for a scrapped sequel to his original game, one that MindChamber was working on; the sprites were already completed and reused for NG Rumble.

Why do I bring up his inclusion in NG Rumble, you may be wondering? Because it's gonna tie into a few theories I have for the character. In case you're curious about what I'm talking about, then sit back and relax, because here are a few theories I have regarding the character, which are based on quite a few observations I've made regarding NG Rumble itself:

S'Asshole owns a garden (and possibly worships some sort of deity)

In NG Rumble, Samurai's stage in the game is known as a Japanese garden. For reference, I'll put up a picture of the stage here (made by the game's artists):

iu_899044_10501143.webp

Basically, the area appears to have running water, an apple tree, and notably a shrine of sorts on the left (which I'll get to later in this section). You're probably wondering "but how do we know this garden is Samurai's specifically?" Well, an Author's Comment from the game actually hints at this. Samurai's story mode in NG Rumble is that he's looking for the person who destroyed his village (although we never see what this village is/was), so he attacks various other characters in order to find an answer. In the third round, he fights against Pico (who is later revealed to have actually been Convict disguising as him), but before the battle begins, the Author's Comments states this:

"Much to his surprise, Pico has shown up in the samurai's land and is wreaking havoc. But Pico is a hero, why would he have razed Asshole's village?"

Considering Samurai's village was stated to have already been destroyed, we can only assume that the "land" part is referring to the garden itself. This implies that Samurai actually owns this entire place (which would be pretty expensive judging by everything within it, but that's besides the point).

And keeping the idea that he owns the garden in mind, this also implies something about the shrine on the left of the stage. While it wouldn't exactly be clear at first glance, if you pay attention to the picture above, you probably notice there are some sake bottles placed in front of an illustration of a red dragon of sorts. If the bottles placed there are from Samurai himself, then that may imply that Samurai worships some sort of dragon-like deity, as sometimes people do give up certain items to "please" whoever they're worshipping. What makes this all the more ironic is that Samurai killed a dragon-like god in his original game, so whether that dragon illustration is a picture of the same god is something I'm not too sure of.

Is S'Asshole tired?

This second theory proposes the idea that Samurai is actually exhausted (at least in the context of his redesign). In order to go into more detail about this theory, I'm going to put up Samurai's redesign that was made by MindChamber:

iu_899045_10501143.gif

You're probably wondering "how does this imply anything about Samurai being tired in any way?" Well, look around his eyes, and you can clearly see eyebags of sorts underneath them. What makes this peculiar to me is that most of the characters MindChamber has designed (with a few exceptions) lack these eyebags, so I don't just think Samurai was given them just to make his design look more "realistic" in a sense.

Also, the idle animation itself kind of hints that he seems a bit tired; just look at how his face slightly sags when his position moves a bit downward. While it's mostly covered up by his arm, it still stands out to me mainly because the rest of his body seems to stand still compared to it.

And lastly, for this section, there's also the fact that Samurai's attacks in NG Rumble are very slow, even if he deals good damage. It's almost as if he's delaying his movement. While this could be a reference to how laggy his original game was, given everything I've said previously here, it could also be a product of how tired he is.

You're probably wondering what exactly would have made Samurai tired, to which that I provide a couple of guesses: stress (a samurai's job isn't exactly easy; whether this applies to his scrapped sequel or NG Rumble doesn't exactly matter, because both would have had him go through multiple enemies), trauma (while Newgrounds games don't take themselves seriously, the characters still go through a lot of shit; in Samurai's case, I don't think essentially being a killing machine wouldn't have an impact on his mental state), or possibly just lack of sleep (could be obvious).

Possible relation to Nene

If you're not familiar with me, then this theory might come out of nowhere. But basically to sum it up, I believe Samurai and Nene are related in some way. It might sound absurd at first, but it isn't exactly without its reasonings.

To start off, there's the fact that Samurai Asshole is actually a prequel to Pico's School. This is mainly because of the penilians (who are antagonists in the Pico series) appearing near the end of Samurai's game, both of the penilians are shown to be discussing about invasion plans and how they'll wait when the time is right (obviously referencing their failed attempt to invade the earth using Cassandra). With that in mind, it would be pretty ironic if one of the Pico characters happened to be related to Samurai, right? That's where Nene comes in, as well as these couple of other points that might hint at her being related to him in some capacity:

-The old icons of Nene that were used in the Newgrounds Art Portal back then gave her some dialogue that implies that Nene is possibly of Korean and/or Japanese descent (with her speaking both Korean and Japanese). Samurai, on the other hand, is specifically a Japanese samurai (obviously).

-Both characters also coincidentally use blades. Samurai uses a katana, while Nene is mostly depicted with using knives (even more notable given the fact that NG Rumble has her use them as a powerup).

-While this probably isn't strong "evidence", in NG Rumble, the Japanese garden (previously mentioned to be Samurai's stage) and Nene's store (which is meant to be Nene's stage) use the same theme in both the Story and Challenge modes. At no other stages in the game does this theme play (whereas the other stage themes are mostly reused for some other stages, mainly Piconjo's manor's theme), hinting that Nene and Samurai specifically share the same theme.

While the Pico characters are meant to be interpretive, I think it'd be pretty interesting if Samurai is related to Nene. However, the only possible way I could see the two being related is if Samurai is Nene's ancestor (as his game seems to take place in Ancient Japan, and his stage in NG Rumble doesn't exactly seem "modern" in any capacity).

So those were my theories. Did you think they were interesting (especially since I basically sat here for half an hour typing down all this stuff about some obscure character from a 1999 flash game)? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

In a week, I'm gonna turn 17.

Yup, it's gonna be my birthday soon. I'll probably upload an art for that a couple of days earlier, though, since I'll be gone for a couple of days around that time.

also here's a goofy ahh meme I made I guess

Hope you have all had a great Pico Day! It really was a blast, looking at all the art and movies all you wonderful users put out for this amazing celebration! Before I go to bed, I wanna share something that I was thinking about posting on my NG page for a while...

Basically, I made up my own headcanons for the NG-verse in general, so this will not only apply to a single series (like Pico's, for example), but pretty much all NG series in general. With that out of the way, here we go:

-The NG-verse was actually created by our world (real life, pretty much). Its very existence is thanks to the real world, so it's sort of like a dream world of some sort, except the characters are kinda aware of it at times.

-Because of this, the characters are aware of the fourth wall, although their access to the real world is limited, as not all of them are strong enough to visit the real world.

-Creators, on the other hand (such as Tom himself), can access the NG-verse and the characters they created. Sometimes they coexist with their creations in many cases.

-Afterlives do exist in the NG-verse, and they pretty much function like you'd expect. Heaven houses the good souls, while Hell houses corrupted ones. However, angels and demons live there; some being born naturally like humans (ex: GF), while others are former humans turned into them (ex: Convict). For creators, if they do die in the NG-verse (be it by accident or not), they simply respawn back in the real world.

-Animals in the NG-verse can talk if they have a strong connection to humans, sometimes learning how to walk or even wear clothes like humans do (Ritz being an example).

-There are other planets out in the NG-verse's space, other than Earth itself (where most of the stories take place). The penilians, Hominids, etc. are all out there, though they've only gotten a few glimpses of Earth to know what happens there.

-Adding to the above, Stick men live in another dimension that’s part of the NG-verse. Zombies, on the other hand, live on a war-torn planet that’s similar to, yet distant from Earth.

-In this universe, the souls of children are actually stronger than souls of adults. This is why Pico and his friends are so strong and why Skid and Pump are so durable; because as the characters are kids, they'd be able to have better adrenaline to be able to fight.

-Humans and monsters/non-humans coexist with each other, although they haven't always gotten along. Eventually they decided to reside in Philadelphia with one another, that being the city where such relationships are the most welcome.

-Some other copyrighted characters (like Hatsune Miku) do exist, but some of them are expies of said already existing copyrighted characters, likely making them different people altogether just putting up a show.

-Since some NG games featuring myths of sorts (such as the games Gyossait and Gretel and Hansel), it may be possible that myths in the NG-verse are true, as well.

-Pico's fanmade flashes in this universe are just movies made by fans of Pico and his friends' adventures who dress up as the characters, rather than the characters themselves. After the events of Pico's School, people around Philadelphia began to portray Pico as a badass hero by making movies out of him, not that he and his friends mind much (in fact, they're happy with the fame).

-Technically, all of the series in Newgrounds could be considered documentaries by Tom Fulp and other creators, except they're more satrical than they actually are to please the public... the real deals were much darker (basically, imagine if Tankmen and Pico's School were taken more seriously).

-A considerably shortened timeline of the NG-verse is probably like this:

Tankmen, Salad Fingers, and Madness Combat -> Pico's series, Alien Hominid, Alloy, and Fancy Pants Adventures -> Henry Stickmin, Eddsworld, and Spooky Month -> Friday Night Funkin' (not everything from this site, but it just gives you somewhat of an idea)

-Speaking of fanmade flashes, the Newgrounds characters/icons sometimes get together and watch fanmade flashes a lot of the users make. They either laugh at how silly some of them are, or they just watch in awe at how awesome a lot of them can turn out to be. Pico likes this the most, considering the magnitude of flashes there are for Pico Day. He, Darnell, and Nene would really seem to enjoy how differently they're portrayed by the community.

So yeah... those were my headcanons for the Newgrounds characters' universe, plus some "lore" for it. Sorry if this seems a little strange, but I really wanted to flesh out the world the characters live in, given all the amazing content I've seen on this site for them!

I know it's delayed, but happy Pico Day anyways. And happy b-day to Tom Fulp, too!

also, here's a shitpost/parody of that "You've Got To Be Kidding!" meme, but with Pico characters as a little celebration for what would've been Pico Day (that, and I thought it'd be funny to share this here), but still to celebrate Tom Fulp's birthday, as well

Anyways, I also have something planned to post for the actual Pico Day, but I'll keep it a secret for now until June~

Considering they're both enemies of Pico, if Cassandra and Convict were to ever meet, do any of you guys think they'd be friends or enemies?

Personally I feel like Cassandra would look up to Convict, but I'd like to see your own thoughts on this one!

Hi everyone! I'm a 16-year old girl who's pretty new here (not much of a shocker), and I've learned quite a lot about Newgrounds through FNF's popularity. Despite that, I am amazed at all the hard work that has been done over the years! I especially love the characters most creators have come up with, and one day, I wanna make a story featuring most of said characters that hail from this site.

With that all being said, I also make headcanons and AUs on a daily basis. Expect to see some of those, even if my art skills aren't much, though I will post my art and whatnot here (though I do not know how to animate... sorry).

All in all, I hope we have a good time!
