imo yeah the goth punks' lives were pretty shitty, but it still didn't exactly justify their actions (aside from Cassandra manipulating them and shit)

in my personal LCA AU, they at least have to reflect on what they were gonna do and how that consequently made them ostracized from everyone else aside from Pico (who's the only one willing to give them a second chance), and with Cassandra, it's especially hard since she's basically a child soldier sent by vindictive aliens
